Evolution Object Oil Classic

To replenish the oil your hardwax oil and repair minor scratches and stains, Object Oil can be easily buffed on with a lint free cloth. This will bring the shine back to dull wooden surfaces, while penetrating the hardwax oil and giving it that extra touch of nourishment. Using Object Oil will prolong the times between re-coating your hardwax oiled surface.

It has a very high coverage rate and fast drying time, if you have a floor that needs a refreshing coat of wood oil, it can be applied with a buffing machine and dry in a few hours on a hardwax oiled surface. (drying times vary depending on the humidity, and seasons of course).

If you have a timber floor or other wooden surface coated with another type of oil finish, please do at test spot first.

Application Information

This versatile oil can be used as a finish by itself with two coats. Object Oil is a thinner penetrating oil than the Evolution Hardwax Oil and has less wax content. It is best used as a finish on cladding or other decorative objects that do not have to be as resistant against watermarking and stains.

It can be used as a first coat primer for the Bio Wax Paste for those who are more inclined towards the traditional french polishing methods.

Traditionally, throughout the centuries, wood care in European homes consisted of linseed oil as a priming coat. Unfortunately, linseed oil and tung oil alone will darken the timber. Where as Object Oil will warm the timber a few tones, but will never darken it to the blackness caused by too many layers of linseed oil. Following the linseed oil they would apply a beeswax finish, which was soft and marked easily. As a replacement for a beeswax finish, please refer to our Bio Wax Paste, which is more durable and resistant to a beeswax alone.
